For immediate hire: Lutheran Memorial Camp (LMC) – HopeWood Pines, part of Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio (LOMO) – HopeWood Outdoors is hiring a Property & Facilities Manager. The Property and Facilities Manager is responsible for the improvements, maintenance and repair of the buildings, grounds and equipment. The Cook assists the Food Service Manager in providing nutritious well-prepared meals, routine cleaning, and sanitation of kitchen and equipment. This is a part-time hourly non-exempt position and is contingent on guests requiring food service while staying in camp. Hours will be scheduled based on usage. Now Hiring Summer Staff 2022
Camp counselors need to be at least 18 years old at the start of camp, and preferably one year out of high school. You can apply for either Lutheran Memorial Camp or Camp Luther. Lutheran Memorial Camp is located on over 400 acres of woodland 30 miles north of Columbus. It has a beautiful setting with a wide range of youth programs for all ages. Camp Luther is located on Lake Erie near Conneaut and is designed exclusively as a family camp.
The key positions at camp are the camp counselors who work directly with the campers. In addition, many support staff are needed such as cooks, lifeguards, maintenance, health service and crafts. Program leaders are needed to support the campers. Every position requires being a servant, sharing your gifts, and having lots of fun. The summer commitment is for 9 - 11 weeks from early June to mid August.
Many staff completing a summer at camp say it was the best summer of their lives! You will make life long friends. The close community developed throughout the summer is a powerful experience for everyone. You will have the opportunity to build vocational skills such as teaching, leadership, counseling, and Christian education. Many potential employers often consider experience as a camp counselor an asset to their organization. You will gain confidence in yourself and find gifts you didn't know you had. You will work with a diverse group of people (even from around the world).
