"We are at a time, perhaps more so than ever before, when so many parents are choosing to live vicariously through the lives of their children, leaving their youth physically overscheduled, mentally overloaded, and borderline spiritually bankrupt. Church camp provides an opportunity for our youth to become "centered" again, a place where they can feel God grabbing hold of them and hear God claiming them in The Word. Church camp is that place where no youth has to worry about or struggle with "making the team" or "measuring up"; it is that place apart wherein God, through caring youth and adults, reminds everyone that we are all members of the Family of God - forgiven, died for, and loved beyond the limits of our wildest imaginations! That's why confirmation camp is such an important part of my ministry as a parish pastor."

- Pastor Gary Eichhorn, Our Savior Lutheran, Dayton
