Developing Youth Leaders

Basic Leadership Training Grades 9-12

Today there are opportunities for Senior High youth to step forward as leaders in each congregation.  Do you hesitate to volunteer? Would you feel better if someone mentored you?  This week will focus on skills, expectations, opportunities and personal growth to build your confidence and capabilities!

You will receive training in Bible exploration and discussions, lock-ins, fundraisers, service projects and general participation in the congregational community because these are all aspects of an active youth program.  Spend an awesome time with other teen leaders preparing, playing, and growing to be more than “just a youth”!

Fee $340

Staff-In-Training Grades 10 - 12

       Have you enjoyed your counselors so much that you want to be one?  Why wait until you graduate to test the waters?  If you have completed your 10^th grade year, you’ll want to sign up for two weeks of SIT!  The experience includes an application, interview and choice of 2^nd week location. The first week is run as a mini-counselor-training with policies, age characteristics and leadership skills all focused on an experience with campers. Time will be spent at LMC and Camp Mowana for exposure to both camp’s traditions and unique styles. The second week will be at your choice of camps, in a cabin full of campers with a counselor to mentor your experience.

Fee  $340 for two weeks

1^st week     Based out of LMC         June 29 - July 4

2^nd week    LMC or Mowana (dates determined during interview)
