Simple Living Youth Adventures

        Outposter and Homestead programs offer rustic camping, meals over an open fire, a relaxed schedule, participation in a small Christian community.  Campers gain a sense of accomplishment through learning survival living skills.  

Outposters Grades 3-5

See the stars like never before while tent camping in the woods of Mowana.  Learn to start a fire, build a shelter, track wildlife, and identify wild edibles.  Campers will return to the main camp for swimming and other events. 

Fee: $340  

Camp Mowana  July 13-18, August 10-15

 
Outposters Grades 6-8

Pitch a tent in the woods for a weeklong encounter with nature.  In between morning watch and night hikes we’ll cook over a fire, learn tracking skills, gather wild edibles, and build a shelter.  You will return to “Civilization” several times during the week for special activities. 

Fee: $340    

Camp Mowana  July 13-18, August 10-15


        What does it take to live like a pioneer?  Find out at Homestead in log cabins a ½ mile from the main camp at LMC
.  Come explore the woods, learn pioneers skills, and care for farm animals. 

Homestead Grades 3-5

Travel back in time to the early Ohio frontier to a rustic cabin setting. Learn to take care of animals, cook over a fire, pump your own water and play Homestead Ball.

Fee:  $340

LMC  July 13-18, August 3-8

 
Homestead Grades 6-8

Enjoy the timeless adventure where watches are put away and adventures happen at anytime of day.   Explore LMC’s “back 40” where few campers get to roam, and try out some primitive skills used by early settlers. Dabble in Dutch oven cookery, pioneer carpentry, and incredibly long creek hikes.

Fee: $340

LMC  June 29-July 4, July 6-11, July 27- August 1

 
Homestead Sr. High

Sleep under the pines, on the porch, or in the rustic cabins and take part in a close knit community where everyone takes part in decisions and activities.  Learn how to drive a team of horses used for hauling wagons, pulling plows and breaking open the prairie lands. Explore the faith that comforted homesteaders during times of plenty and times of trial.

Fee:  $350
