Confirmation Camp

            Enjoy the freedom of camp with your confirmation class in the midst of God's Creation. You will have all the great camp experiences of swimming, campfires, new friends, crafts, singing and games.  Explore the depths of your faith with your classmates and other Lutheran youth.  Experience Christ's walk in a whole new way!

            All confirmation programs require a Pastor or adult leader from the congregation to attend with their students. Campers stay in cabins with the supervision of trained camp counselors. Church leaders, dynamic camp counselors and youth campers all share in learning, having fun, and growing in grace.

Confirmation at LMC 
            This is a dynamic program that brings together many confirmation students and Pastors from a number of congregations. 

Pastors are given the choice of the following Bible Study leadership styles:

~ Pastors and camp counselors co-lead using the camp curriculum

~ Pastors teach using their own catechism curriculum

~ Camp counselors lead using the camp curriculum with the Pastor resource

          "Every summer I bring my confirmation students to camp for a week. The benefits are impossible to measure!  As a group we get closer to one another, they see me there everyday hiking with them, singing, laughing, and praying.  They meet other kids from other churches and learn that, yes there are other Lutherans out there! 
          The college students who serve as counselors really connect with the youth.  They still know what's cool and the kids think that they are awesome, so when the counselors confess their faith in Christ, the confirmation students really listen and are impacted by that.  I have adults in my congregation who tell me that their experiences at camp as youngsters is something that helped to build the solid foundation of their faith.  This is most certainly true!"

Campfirmation at Mowana
            This is a small group program that allows each congregation’s leaders to plan and lead an hour of Catechism time each morning that is specific to their group of campers.  The rest of the campers’ time is spent in the Classic Youth  Camp. Campers from the same congregation are normally assigned to the same cabin group.  Campers canoe the Mohican River.
