The Fleming Falls Retreat Center ~ A New Chapter

A whole new chapter in the life and ministry of Camp Mowana began with the construction of the Fleming Falls Retreat Center in 2002. This facility fulfills the long held dream of being better able to serve families, adults, seniors and those having physical disabilities, who would not otherwise be able to participate in an outdoor ministry experience at Camp Mowana.

Since the Retreat Center opened we have:

* Served more than 10,000 guests.
* Been utilized by nearly 50 congregations new to Mowana.
* Expanded summer family camping programs.
* Enabled LOMO to better serve the needs of our constituency.
* Facilitated partnerships with Christian agencies and institutions like Capital University, Trinity Seminary and Ashland Seminary.
* Reached out to serve organizations such as Hospice and Alcoholics Anonymous.
* Provided a place for renewal for lay and rostered leaders of the church.

The Need

Our goal is to be debt free when we celebrate Camp Mowana’s 75th anniversary in 2016! The current Retreat Center mortgage balance is $290,000. Under the present terms this will be paid off in 2020. The annual payments are $42,396 with monthly installments of $3,533. Paying the mortgage off ahead of time will reduce Mowana’s operating expenses, free up money for current programs and help ensure the camp’s longterm financial stability.

Will you help?

Our goal is to pay off Camp Mowana’s Mortgage by our 75th Anniversary in 2016.
Gifts of all levels are needed for Mowana to become debt free:
$3533 Sponsor a month of mortgage payments
$ 813 Sponsor a week of mortgage payments
$ 116 Sponsor a day of mortgage payments
$1800 Patron Level - is a core supporter

Memorial and Honor

You may want to remember or honor someone who has been important in your life; maybe someone who served as a staff member or volunteer at Mowana. Each person who gives a gift of $1,800 or more
is eligible to name one person that your gift is in memory or in honor of. All gifts in memory and in honor of will be recognized at the end of the campaign.
